Methley Japanese plum produces medium to large, purple/red plums that are great for fresh eating and jelly. Methley is a reliable tree grown commercially in several areas of the United States. It is also one of the rare Japanese plums that is self-fertile so it can produce fruit alone but benefits from cross pollination with another Japanese plum tree.
