Fiber-reinforced composite filaments are well known material for end-use parts production and heavy-duty applications with superior strength, stiff and heat resistance. However, high-speed printing using fiber-reinforced filament brings many challenges, such as lower flowability and poorer interlayer bonding quality, and quicker wearing out of the nozzle. To overcome these challenges, Raise3D has developed a new extrusion technology to form a cross-section of the filament with a fiber-rich inner core and a polymer-coated outer skin for the Hyper Core family. During high-speed FFF printing, the thick polymer skin of Hyper Core PPA GF25 filament improves polymer healing and welding process across the interface of adjacent layers and lines.
