3D Universe ABS Filament 2.85mm - 1 kg
Introducing 3D Universe ABS Filament At 3D Universe, we are now offering a new, high-end 3D printing ABS filament. The complete filament line is available in an assortment of 16 different colors. We've had this in the works for a while, now, so we're very excited - to say the least! Lego-tough Thermoplastics3D Universe ABS is made from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, a tough, thermoplastic polymer. It's the same material from which Lego is made. Whereas PLA tends to be brittle, ABS can withstand more stress before cracking. ABS is a low hazard material and should be handled with care. High Standards of QualityHaving close to 30 years of experience manufacturing a very diverse array of plastics, our filament manufacturer has the process knowledge required to produce high-end filaments. Our ABS has a diameter tolerance of +/- 0.08 mm, which ensures a consistent flow rate. The filament is tightly wound to guard against tangling and each spool is shipped in air-tight packaging to shield against the elements. Made in the U.S.A. with Artist-friendly PricesBecause our filament is manufactured in the United States, our actual costs are significantly lower. The quality level is exceptionally close to that of European-imported filaments, but far more cost-effective. Works With 3D Printers That Accept 2.85 mm or 3.0 mm3D Universe PLA is designed for printers that work with standard 2.85 mm and up to 3.00 mm size filaments. We have personally tested this filament with our Ultimaker 2+'s and are absolutely pleased with the results. ** NOTE: Due to the spool dimensions, 3D Universe 1kg filament spools are not currently recommended for use with the Ultimaker 3, Ultimaker 3 Extended, or Ultimaker S5 printers. Instead, consider using our 750g spools. Choosing Between 2.85 mm and 3.0 mmThere is some confusion surrounding 2.85 mm vs 3.0 mm filament. The truth is, most filament labeled as 3.0 mm is actually closer to 2.85 mm in diameter - with very rare exceptions. 3D Universe filament is truly 2.85 mm in diameter, with a tolerance of +/- .08 mm. Therefore, it works exceptionally well in Ultimaker printers, as well as printers that require 3 mm filament, such as the LulzBot TAZ or Mini. Simply configure your slicing software for a filament diameter of 2.85 mm and you can expect optimal results.
