Title: "Brigid of Kildare." St. Brigid of Kildare, who was named after a pagan goddess, was an early Irish nun, abbess and founder of several monasteries, including Kildare. She also started a school for the arts. She is celebrated for her generosity to the poor. Tradition reveals her miracles relating to healing and household tasks. To comfort a dying man, she made a cross of straw called Brigid's Cross, which people hang from their ceilings to protect their homes from fire.  St. Brigid is the patroness of midwives, infants, nuns, poets, farmers, poultry, cattle and dairy workers. "Lord God, may St. Brigid kindle the flame of Divine Love in me, and may her sacred mantle cover me in time of need, wrap me in time of illness, and support me in time of trial, that I may be filled with her generosity and joy. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen." Artist: Lynn Garlick, Taos, New Mexico. The artist reserves all copyrights. Media: High quality folk art print decoupaged onto pine board.  Dimensions
