Cheap plastic. Not deep enough. Air blows out water. I bought a bucket and hose and cut a hole and slits in the top and made my own cheaper than this that is 100 times better. Don't waste your money. ∼ JULIANNA Product Reviews Rating Posted 10/21/2023 I love this lint trap I placed inside a thin fabric bag to catch any lint that might escape. nice quality and easy to install. ∼ KOLTEN Product Reviews Rating Posted 12/11/2023 This device seems to work well, but can't give it 5 stars. The flexible metallic duct shipped with it is too short to be used with a taller dryer. I wanted to put it on top of the dryer, since putting it behind or beside the dryer was not an option in my home, and ready access is needed to clean it of lint and to replace the water. In addition, the duct didn't stay attached to the machine via the tie-wrap type fasteners provided. Part of the problem is that the duct is made of relatively flimsy foil reinforced with a spiraling metallic wire. The spiral of wire means that any fastener must cross the wire, so the fastener will never be flush all around. Would recommend buying a different duct of the type that doesn't have the spiraling wire, or maybe using a different type of fastener, such as a hose clamp or a duct clamp of the type with the screws and the slots, rather than the type with just the two end tabs that screw together.That said, the device saves energy and humidifies the dry air in my home during winter. I plan to recommend this to family members. ∼ ABBEY Product Reviews Rating Posted 12/04/2023 It would appear that the device was intended to be fastened to flat surface by hanging it on two protruding screw heads. I doubt one could get this to work as the hose, attached below would weigh it down and the vibrations would likely dislodge it or break it apart.It consists of three pieces, a lower box, a small deflector and an upper 'top' to which the hose is attached. The deflector fits in the middle of the bottom box - barely and only after the 'flashing' was paired away with a razor knife. This top fits to the bottom and is held in place by an integral plastic clip - one on each end of the top.If the dryer passes any lint through the exhaust hose, it is likely that lint will be blown about your laundry room as the vents in this box have no screening to trap the stuff.Had I seen it in the store, I would have looked for something else. ∼ NEHEMIAH Product Reviews Rating Posted 12/30/2023 I bought this because it was on sale cheap to aid in heating up part of the house. OK, so, I have and outside vent for my dryer, but this lady suggested harvesting the heat from your drier to help heat up your home and I thought why not try it. It does catch the lint. Just make sure you either use the enclosed tube or clean your old one out. I have a sturdy metal one and chose to keep using that one and forgot that shaking the thing would release lint. That was funny as the lightbulb in my brain kicked on and the lint flew out with gusto into my face. Once you have the thing correctly installed with water and the hose it will blow out heat well. In the right house, it will work super well. We have a separate laundry room that is large for the moment that is really cold in winter and it help make things pleasing in there. ∼ MARELI Product Reviews Rating Posted 10/01/2023 I had one of these water filled indoor lint catching vents before and it worked great. I don't remember the brand of that one, but it worked great. Unfortunately, that is not the case with this one. It is very misshapen, so even getting the vented lid to fit correctly on the water filled part was almost impossible. I don't know how long ago it was made, or how it was stored, but the cheap plastic is so brittle that while trying to clamp the top on, the part the top snap thing goes around snapped off the base, and being so mishapen, the top will not even sit flat on the base. I had to duct tape the top on, which is difficult since the top is where the vents are, and the base is filled with water. This is a real hassle, considering that to attach it I had to move my washer so I could squeeze behind the dryer to install it. Making matters worse, the cheap, thin mylar duct hose it comes with only extends about 3 feet from where it attaches to the dryer vent outlet, meaning it has to be on the floor. But wait, it gets worse ! The Description says it comes with a "metallic transition duct and two clamps". Well I'm petty sure that mylar is not metallic other than a thin reflective coating. And, in my opinion, way too short, brittle, plastic zip ties that do not even stay "zipped" do not qualify as "clamps". I had to use more duct tape to secure the hose end to the dryer. In order that I may be able to put this thing in a more accessible spot that will avoid damaging my laundry room wall, avoid having to move my washer every time I do a load, and avoid having to be a contortionist to empty, clean, and refill the damn thing, I have ordered a longer, stronger duct hose, and two of the actual metal hose clamps that have been used successfully for decades to connect and secure dryer duct hoses all over the world. It's that, or else deal with wall damage and a rusty dryer. I will still have to deal with removing and reapplying duct tape every time I empty the lint water and put fresh water in, cuz funky water can grow nasty stuff I really don't want blowing around my house. SKIP THIS !!! ∼ OWEN Product Reviews Rating Posted 08/17/2023 Used the 90 degree 4" vent elbow for sale here on amazon to connect this deflecto lint trap kit to the dryer. The flexible metallic duct tube is just barely long enough to get from the dryer hole at floor level to the top of the dryer where the water canister sits.Definitely adds humidity and heat to the house interior, which in winter is not a problem here in the high desert mountains. As for the extraneous dust mentioned by some reviewers, we have not noticed any of that. The water in the little tank seems to capture a lot of lint, and we change it regularly. Of course, the dryer's built-in lint filter captures most of the lint. This device is a nice alternative to running the dryer exhaust to the outdoors, which is such a waste of heat energy. In warmer weather we hang the wash outside, where the sun is the best solution of all. ∼ TOBY Product Reviews Rating Posted 03/26/2023 Actually, I haven't even opened the box yet. But it's replacing one of the same item from about 6 years ago, so this review is really about that one.There was an addition put on our house by the previous owner so the laundry room is no longer on an outside wall. For years we just lived with the lint, using a shop vac once a week and getting what we could. Not quite 100% effective and actually a fire hazard because some of it was finding its way into the furnace. Yikes! I found this almost by accident and though that I'd give it a try. It actually works. Not the most convenient device to use and in the summer having additional humidity dumped into the air isn't helpful, but worlds better than what we did before it.The original one is still working, but after six years the plastic is starting to get a little brittle with the heat and hard water residue. A couple years ago I started using the water from the dehumidifier instead, which I save for "spot free rinse" use. (You can't use it for drinking, but it makes great car wash water.) That helps with the hard water issue. But the only reason that I got a replacement to have on stand by is we're shopping for a new dryer. Otherwise the original still works.So if you can't vent outside, this is an adequate, if not perfect solution. ∼ ERNEST Product Reviews Rating Posted 07/28/2022 This has been a life saver for me. My home is on a concrete slab so my dryer vent was in my ceiling. The lint was collecting in the hose and wasn’t escaping as it should. I saw this product on Amazon and decided to give it a try. My laundry room is in my hallway and I have bi-fold doors to access it. I hooked the hose to the back of my dryer and attached the other end to the top of the opening to the lint trap kit lid. I then mounted the box to the wall and added water up to the line. I snapped on the lid attached to the hose and started drying my clothes. This cut my drying time in half. I was really over working my dryer with the hose running up through the ceiling. It’s well worth the purchase if you have and enclosed laundry room and don’t have access to an outdoor vent. ∼ SONNY Product Reviews Rating Posted 06/23/2022 We just made a move, and ditched our last dryer trap box since we were due for a new one anyway. No problems/easy installation. I am not a fan of these in general, because especially if you have no exhaust fan in your laundry room, heat, humidity, and condensation can all be a real pain.However, our home situation doesn't allow for an external vent, so we are using this. The product itself works as it is supposed to, and we deal with the condensation with the use of a dehumidifier nearby the laundry room right now. nice buy for a product I've bought before, and will buy again. ∼ ABAGAIL Product Reviews Rating Posted 07/10/2022 First off, this is very cheaply made, cheap plastic. I'm curious how long it will hold up and I primarily mean the part that snaps to the container. But I believe the price is reflective to the cheapest given other models are $70.But it does what it's supposed to, simple design, and works great! I would recommend to anyone! Easy to install, took just a couple minutes. You put water in the bottom, and that's what traps the lint. I change the water about ever 2 to 3 loads.I did have to buy a longer 8' tube because the 4' wasn't long enough.I believe this helps heat my bathroom and helps keep moisture the air. ∼ COLTON Product Reviews Rating Posted 08/24/2022 Great purchase. I had problems with lint/ moisture backing up and clogging the dryer exhaust. It’s about 25 feet from my dryer to the outside. I’ve not noticed problem of heat/ moisture buildup to the the interiorfrom this device. I’ve had the device for a couple of months. I empty the dirty water weekly. ∼ BRUCE Product Reviews Rating Posted 09/03/2022 Cheap materials, very short duct, impossible to securely attach duct with cheap plastic zip ties, no screws provided to do wall attachment shown on the packaging (and anyway the duct won't reach that far without it popping off the machine).If you get this, have something like duct or metal tape to secure the ends to machine and box, and a table knife or small jewelry pliers to ease the flimsy foil over the machine vent. Consider gluing the deflector in place because the box isn't robust enough to hold it securely. Know that you'll have to place it on the floor unless you provide your own longer duct. If you can't put it between the dryer and washing machine, wall, or other sturdy surface, have a brick or some other heavy object to brace it upright so it doesn't tip over.When I have time, I'll remove and thoroughly vacuum my old duct and build my own system with a paint bucket. Then I'll curbside this poor baby. I'm sure someone else can use it and it'll be free. ∼ EMILIO :root { --star-size: 28px; --star-color: #ccc; --star-background: #fc0; --star-size2: 25px; } .Stars { --percent: calc(var(--rating) / 5 * 100%); display: inline-block; font-size: var(--star-size2); font-family: Times; // make sure ★ appears correctly line-height: 1; } .Stars::before { content: '★★★★★'; letter-spacing: 3px; background: linear-gradient(90deg, var(--star-background) var(--percent), var(--star-color) var(--percent)); -webkit-background-clip: text; -webkit-text-fill-color: transparent; } .Stars2 { --percent: calc(var(--rating) / 5 * 100%); display: inline-block; font-size: var(--star-size2); font-family: Times; // make sure ★ appears correctly line-height: 1; } .Stars2::before { content: '★★★★★'; letter-spacing: 3px; background: linear-gradient(90deg, var(--star-background) var(--percent), var(--star-color) var(--percent)); -webkit-background-clip: text; -webkit-text-fill-color: transparent; }
