Ferro rods make excellent survival fire starters due to their longevity, simplicity, and versatility.  Exotac's nanoSTRIKER XL is an all-in-one fire-starting tool that is compact enough for everyday carry and durable enough for the most rugged environments.  The nanoSTRIKER XL's 1/4 in. ferrocerium rod can be struck more than 3000 times with the integral carbide striker, giving you a lifetime of potentially life-saving fires. Features: 1/4 in. ferrocerium and magnesium rod sparks at 5500 degrees Fahrenheit (3000 degrees Celsius), easily igniting even difficult tinder. Anodized aluminum body protects ferro rod; tungsten carbide striker screws into integral housing when not in use. Ferrocerium rod is threaded for easy replacement. Includes lanyard for easy carry and loss prevention. Designed and made in the USA.
