  Butterfly Telescope, 2022 by Roberta Fineberg is a digital artwork on paper. An optical piece comprised of images of butterflies that the artist shot with an iPhone - divided and subdivided into shapes and circles. A kaleidoscope of butterflies, ultimately, the artist explores themes of the natural and man-made worlds in which caterpillars break free of their skin for metamorphosis. Hatching into exquisite creatures, butterflies sip nectar from flower to flower during their short sweet existences.  Printed on Baryta paper, sewn together with white thread, the 11” x 16” diptych - is signed, dated, and titled by the photographer.
