Victorian Sterling Citrine Paste & Granite Starburst Pendant

A beautiful and substantial starburst pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of sterling silver, the pendant forms a large 8-point star decorated with a variety of stones. The surface of the piece is hand-etched with a flowing scrolled motif, which adds beautiful depth and texture. A faceted citrine is bezel set at the center of the star, which is rich and lively in color. A pattern of alternating granite and foil-backed paste stones surround the center stone, decorating each point of the star. The closed-backed stones are faceted and appear pale gold and champagne in color, thanks to their original foil backings. They are perfectly complimented by the light rusty red and charcoal grey colors of the granite stones.
