Darjeeling Through the Seasons Tea Tasting Package

This session was held on October 8-9, 2012. After briefly reviewing the history of tea in India including how and when it was introduced in Darjeeling, we directed our attention to the characteristics of Darjeeling tea and what makes it so wonderful. We then focused on the Arya Estate, a small historic, family owned & operated estate that produces some of the best Darjeeling teas. (In fact, Arya teas are so good that they never even make it to auction. Teas are produced in small quantities and must be ordered in advance of the pluck to ensure supply.) Our primary purpose was to distinguish the characteristics of each flush and to compare/contrast the corresponding teas.  The teas we tasted were the following: Arya Pearl (White) Arya Ruby (1st Flush Black) Arya Diamond 2nd Flush Arya Clonal Exclusive (Autumn Flush)
