Adir Winery and Dairy was founded by the Ashkanazi and Rosenberg families in 2003. The Rosenberg family originated from Poland and immigrated to Israel in the late 1940s. The Ashkanazi family originated from Turkey and immigrated to Israel in the early 1950s. Both families moved to the Northern Galilee and established Moshav Kerem Ben Zimra. They knew they had to build and sustain a community so both families were a part of developing the agriculture and livestock in the region. In the 1980s the Rosenberg family planted vineyards on the slopes of the Galilee hills. During the same time, the Ashkanazi family was producing cheese and milk from goats in the area. Both families built up their reputation and product so that they were known as some of the best farmers to work with in the developing wine and food industry in Israel.
