Indigo + Pleated Patterns - Saturday, October 22
Instructor: Kristine Vejar With a history spanning more than three-thousand years, indigo dyeing, requires a unique series of techniques, in order to dye cloth. It is one of the world's most revered dyeing traditions. In this class, you will learn how to create an indigo vat and how to create different patterns through the combination of pleating and the use of a cylindrical object. You will spend time in class experimenting with different surface design effects and dyeing your pieces in the indigo vats. Each student will receive a bundle of fabrics to work with including cotton and linen.
