Many Pro-Lifers would feign compassion for the unborn by advocating "equal protection" and yet would deny them equal justice by refusing legislation that would criminalize abortion as homicide or first-degree murder. The Pro-Life movement's refusal to punish murderers is nothing less than cowardice and partiality. If one truly loves one's neighbor, then one must demand that the same law that protects one's life must also be applied to the unborn; one must demand that whatever punishment is exacted on murderers must also be exacted on baby murderers, for the Lord himself says that he detests partiality.
