The "SS" was put on there because the band thought "Crude" was empty. Later they said it stood for "Society System". They began playing shows with an onslaught of various Swedish punk bands of that era, they quickly gained a name for themselves but primarily among their own community in Sweden. It wasn't until late 1983 that they reached a broader audience with the release of their eternal classic, "Who'll Survive". The EP was released on Uproar Records and never officially repressed. They fit in well with the established lot of Swedish hardcore punk of that era.
