A very fine and rare early 19th century American miniature portrait of a child in a white dress holding a kitte. The child is posed against a light sky blue background and is wearing what looks to be a white Christening dress. In her right hand is a small kitten being held by the scruff of his neck. Condition is very good and it is not signed. It is a watercolor and dates c. 1829. Dimensions: Height: 2 3/4", Width: 2 1/4", Frame height: 5 1/4", Width: 4 1/4"
