
Wind buffeting diffuser for MK8 Golf GTI, R (2022+)
If you found this product, you likely already know what it is for. This part significantly reduces wind buffeting noise at highway speeds. This wind noise or wind buffeting is also known as Helmholtz resonance. Wind buffeting is particularly bad on 2 door vehicles, but anyone in a 4 door will also notice the helicopter-like noise in your inner ear when you open just the front windows. This part is most effective from 0-80mph. Above 80mph the buffeting noise will begin to overcome this parts ability to reduce the resonance. Cross winds can also reduce their effectiveness. These work best when they are diverting air flow from vehicle movement. IMPORTANT NOTE: As with any aerodynamic part, other parts upstream on the exterior of the car can effect this part’s function. Splitters, endplates, tire spats, hood vents, fender vents can all change airflow feeding into this part. Our testing was done on a car with our V3 aero kit, fender and hood vents.
