The Surrendered*

Original Painting by Nipper Sorensen. Acrylic on Canvas. Measures 18” x 24” x 1” (45.72cm x 60cm x 2.54cm). The painting is based on a conversation I had with a dear friend. I had asked in the morning for inspiration to come through, and heard "bridges." Later a friend called me, asking for support as she was going through a hurtful breakup. While we were talking I asked her what she wanted. She said, "I want to just focus on me, and my heart, to surrender to God." While she was sharing that, I was sketching bridges on my sketch pad. Then she said, "He told me I had burned all the bridges to all". I smiled and told her it wasn't true and that I had just been drawing them and they are still standing strong. ~2015
