Lion & Fish 20th c. Original Landscape Painting Art pond scene Charming & Cute

This charming original painting on paper features a lion at the edge of a pond with an orange fish.  The happy little fish has come to the surface of the water (in the center of the pond) apparently to greet the lion.  Perhaps this was done as an illustration for a book, a story or a poem.  THE LION AND THE FISH is neatly printed across the bottom of the scene. The plants around the pond are varied.  The most colorful plant in this landscape scene is the yucca type plant (with pink flowers) in front of the lion. This delightful original work of art is a combination of pen and ink drawing and paint.  We are not sure of the type of paint used.  Perhaps it is all watercolor, but it also might include gouache. This original painting is in excellent condition.  It is protected under glass.  There is black paper on the back and a wire for hanging. The frame is approximately 11 ¼” x 11 ¼”.  The mat window is approximately 5 5/8” x 5 ½”.  We have not taken it out of the frame to see if there
