Adsum + Adidas Samba Millennium

Our first global collaboration with Adidas. The design pays homage to one the most popular produced iterations of the model, black and white, and finds a middle ground in color. We call it Nutmeg Beige, a reference to a favorite football move. A pop of red can be found on the tongue embroidery, torsion system plate, and beneath the natural colored gum sole. The color links it to the Predator boot worn by Adidas soccer stars past and present. The main body of the Samba features smooth leather, tying it to classic on field materials; however, we used medium and low nap suedes in multiple colors to soften the appearance of the shoe. Our choice of black nubuck for the three stripes was done to make sure both model and brand was known from afar. Adsum’s minimal branding can be found in the classic gold foil where it should be.
