Eleagnus Silverthorn Elaeagnus pungens Silverthorn is a large, fast-growing shrub that's sometimes planted in hedges or along highways, since it quickly makes a dense screen. Small flower is very fragrant in fall and winter then berry appears.  It tolerates varied environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, coastal conditions, shade, and full sun.
