NARROW LEAF CRABAPPLE Malus angustifolia. Also known as: Narrowleaf Crabapple Southern Crabapple Wild Crab Wild Crabapple Small tree- Grows 20-30 feet tall. Native to pine woodlands or mixed hardwoods in open to medium densities. Branches spread outward to form a rounded open crown. Full sun to part shade will encourage mor blooms and fruiting. Well drained, moist and slightly acidic soils. Wildlifebirds and pollinators. Will start producing fruit within 3-4 year depending on the age of the sapling. Used: Ornamental. Small apples used for jellies and jams. Attrcts the Tiger Swallowtail, Red Spotted Purple, Lorquin's Admiral, Hairstreak, BR. Elfin Butterflies.
