The Douk Douk Folder knife has been produced in Thiers, France by the Cognet family since 1929. In the decades since it has become somewhat of a legend. Despite its maker's initial intent to be a peasant's knife used to slice cheese or cut rope, this humble folder was nefariously utilized by the Algerian army in the 1950s to terrorize French countrymen. With its scimitar blade, ferro blackened stainless steel handle, and the Melanesian Spirit God (of doom and destruction) "Douk Douk" engraved in the haft it's no wonder this knife has a history of interesting usage. Though we aren't even scratching the surface of that history here, suffice it to say this blade has developed somewhat of a cult following among knife collectors.
