Buckskin Oil Buckskin Oil is a medium-to-heavy weight swab oil formulated to soften tanned buckskin and de-haired leather. It’s included in the Tan-a-Buckskin Kit and used after tanning hides with Pickle Tan A-21 to help you finish with a soft, flexible buckskin that’s ready for crafts or leather garments. Buckskin leather is typically made from deer hides, however, elk, moose, and cow (beef) hides are also used.
