SPECS: Approx 12" X 5 1/2" X 3/4" with Live Edge Printed copy of the full version of the poem is included Made using reclaimed logs from an A16 Mountain Shop Handmade in USA & signed by the craftsman THE STORY:  This wall art was cut and laser engraved from a slice of log reclaimed from one of the former A16 mountain shops.  I've hand made each plank with the hope that it will inspire all who see it to explore and help preserve wilderness, and perhaps make the reader smile.    Robert Service (1874 - 1958) was an English-born Canadian poet who was often called "The Bard of the Yukon."  He traveled to the Yukon in 1904 and stayed until 1912.  His experience there inspired him to write "The Cremation of Sam McGee" and many other poems.  His writings motivated countless, mostly young boys and young men to explore wild places and pursue an adventurous lifestyle. That included me. I first heard this poem at Boy Scout camp in the early 70s and have enjoyed many of his poems ever since.
