FLOVENT HFA (Fluticasone)
What is this medication? FLOVENT HFA (Fluticasone)Oral Inhalant; Corticosteroid Fluticasone (Inhaled), is officially indicated for use in asthma. It is also prescribed off-label for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and eosinophilic esophagitis. (may be used for conditions not listed). How does this medication work? FLOVENT HFA (Fluticasone) may reduce the formation, release, and activity of inflammatory mediators such as kinins, histamine and prostaglandins. Reduces cell migration to the affected area and reverses dilation and blood vessel permeability resulting in decreased access of cells to the site. Extremely potent vasoconstrictive and anti-inflammatory action. How should I take this medication? Inhalation: 1-2 actuations once or twice daily depending on condition it is used for and which product is used. How to Take: HFAs should be shaken first and a few priming puffs should be sprayed before first use or if the inhaler has not been used in 2-3 weeks. Rinse mouth
