Bell 222
The Bell 222 is an American light twin-turbine helicopter, notable as the first of its kind developed in the USA. It gained popularity for corporate and VIP transport, and was also used in emergency medical services (EMS). The helicopter is known for its distinctive sound, due to its wide-cord rotor blades, and for its retractable landing gear. The Bell 222 also became famous for its role as the fictional "Airwolf" in the 1980s TV series. A total of 199 Bell 222 helicopters were built, including all variants, before production ended in 1991.
