The McDonnell Douglas DC-9 is a twin-engine, narrow-body jet airliner known for its short to medium-range capabilities. It was first manufactured in 1965 and was designed for frequent, short flights. Several variants were produced, including the DC-9-10, DC-9-20, DC-9-30, DC-9-40, and DC-9-50, with the DC-9-30 being the most popular. A total of 976 McDonnell Douglas DC-9 aircraft were built.
