The de Havilland Comet was a revolutionary aircraft that marked the dawn of the commercial jet age. A total of 114 de Havilland Comet aircraft were built, including prototypes. This number encompasses all variants of the Comet, from the initial prototypes to the final production models.  Dan-Air was an airline based in the United Kingdom and a wholly owned subsidiary of London shipbroking firm Davies and Newman.
