Continental Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10
The McDonnell Douglas DC-10 is a wide-body trijet airliner that was produced from 1971 to 1989. It was designed for medium to long-range flights and could carry between 255 and 380 passengers. While initially successful, the DC-10 gained a reputation for safety issues and accidents in its early years, though its overall safety record was comparable to other wide-body aircraft of the era. A total of 446 McDonnell Douglas DC-10s were built. This includes both the commercial passenger versions and the KC-10 tanker variant for the U.S. Air Force.
