Greenwood’s 7” vinyl 45 rpm English cover of Down Town with Magic Ways featuring Brent Carter on lead vocals arrived today!! GREENWOOD is a Japanese Hawaiian AOR/SOUL band well known for their English cover of Tatsuro Yamashita's famous song "SPARKLE". In their 2021 album, they performed three covers including "LOVELAND ISLAND", but their love for Tatsuro is not over yet!! Their latest album, released the other day, includes four new covers. Among them, Sugar Babe's great songs "DOWN TOWN" and "MAGIC WAYS", which are celebrating their 50th anniversary, are released on 7-inch cuts. While the English translation conforms to the meaning of the original lyrics, what is noteworthy is the chorus that is sung repeatedly. You might think that the famous phrase "Let's go down to town~♪" is sung in Japanese, but in fact, they are singing "DOWN TOWN COULD IT BE SO" (it sounds like "Let's go down to town"!)
