Shown to reduce drag at high speed and greatly improve high speed stability and downforce. A flat bottom creates over 1/3 of the car's downforce and when combined with the rear diffuser and front splitter the results are night and day. A front splitter serves to force air up and over the body to create downforce and a diffuser creates downforce by creating a pressure differential, and serves to eject air out from underneath the car. This pulling action decreases the velocity of air below the car, so that the more slowly moving air above the car will push the car into the ground with low pressure beneath and high pressure above.
