R.Murphy knife

These knives are not manufactured specifically for oboe reed making, but they work very well as a tip finishing knife. I use this specific knife for very detailed tip work on the final day of scraping.  The blade itself is very thin at just under 1.5mm thick at the spine. The blade length is 2.5 inches and the total length of the knife is just over 6 inches. The hardwood handle is stained brown I sharpen them on a belt sharpener or India stone and then add a fine scraping burr with a  burnishing rod.  Made in the U.S.A
