During my Yosemite workshop in October of 2019, there were huge fires burning in and around the Park, filling the landscape with smoke. Not to be deterred from making the most of what could easily be considered ruinous for landscape photographers, our group actually made positive use of the situation by viewing the scene as a sort of mysterious fog! In my own case, since I could barely make out the usual features of Half Dome and Little Yosemite Valley from this location I had visited many times, I turned my camera around and discovered this marvelous stone figure I had never noticed before!
