PENTATONIC OR DIATONIC   The Choroi childrens lyre is made of one piece of wood (ash or maple) and has an open soundbox. It forms the transition to the larger chromatic lyres in sound, range. The 12 steel strings can be tuned diatonically or pentatonically (tuning key included). It is also possible to play all types of scales, minor as well as major. This means most folk songs and other simple melodies can be played on it.
