Comfrey Leaf Powder
What is Comfrey Leaf Powder? Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is sometimes used to treat cuts and reduce swelling from sprains and broken bones when applied to the skin. Comfrey roots and leaves contain allantoin, a substance that helps new skin cells grow, as well as other substances that lower redness and keep skin healthy. Comfrey ointments have been used to treat bruises, pulled muscles and tendons, fractures, sprains, strains, and osteoarthritis. Comfrey was also used to treat stomach issues in the past. Oral goods with comfrey have also been taken off the market in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Germany. The harmful chemicals in comfrey can also be taken through the skin, so they can build up in the body and be harmful. If you use a salve with comfrey, be careful (see "How to Take It"), a
