With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Senior Chief Petty Officer Joseph Martin Hayden II on July 27, 2024, at the age of 42. Joseph was a native of Springfield, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Springfield High School in 2001. Driven by an unwavering sense of duty and love for his country, he enlisted in the United States Navy on June 21, 2001.

During his distinguished Navy Career (June 2001- October 2022), Senior Chief Hayden served as a Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC) and Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman (SOIDC). He served at units including the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Raider Battalion, the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center, and the last 12 years of his career at the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
