Moroccan Khatiya Platter

The Khatiya or Charpai in Hindi means cot. The Khatiyas/Charpais are traditionally furniture pieces used in backyards or rooftops in Indian homes. They are made of a wooden frame and woven rope. These  have been adapted into platters. This Khatiya has a regal mughal pattern with 2 elephants saluting each other. We call this the Hathi Mere Saathi design because the elepahants are accompanied by many small ones around the tray.
