Intro to Joinery - Private Class

Joinery is the key to all wood furniture design. You have a bunch of parts, but how do you put them together? In this class each student will turn a hardwood board into a beautiful box with a sliding lid. You will develop skills in layout, how to look at project drawings, and making cut lists. Machines used in class will include the jointer, planer, and table saw, as well as the router table, bandsaw, DADO stack, and brad nailer. We will also talk about the all-important topic of wood movement and how to account for it in your project design. Finally, we'll explore surface preparation and options for finishing. No prerequisite. Price is per student.
