300mm Wander Sujihiki

This sujihiki was forged from 1095 High Carbon Steel. The "wander" handle is my interpretation of a classic wa handle with a palm swell. This is a slicing knife with a forward balance (about 1.5" forward of the heel).  The blade features forged texture with a satin finish and a clayed hamon. The blade tested out at 64 HRC. This blade is high carbon steel and will patina over time. The handle is stabilized quilted maple and walnut. The handle and blade were hand-rubbed with a mixture of purified mineral oil and beeswax. Every step of this process was completed in my workshop creating a one of a kind, hand-forged knife.
