E.H. Taylor Cured Oak Bourbon
Created by: Buffalo Trace Distillery (Brown Tax Stamp) Aged 13 Months Cured Oak Bourbon Taste: Indulge in the exquisite flavors of this unique bourbon. Crafted from Mash Bill #1, it shares a heritage with renowned blends such as Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, and George T. Stagg. This sour mash of corn, rye, and malted barley—featuring a lower rye content—delivers a smooth, silky experience. Expect prominent notes of sweet vanilla and toasted oak, with rich toffee and slight hints of figs, finishing with an underlying oak presence throughout. History: A limited edition marvel, this bourbon has been meticulously cured in oak barrels for thirteen months. It stands as a testament to the innovation of a visionary distiller. In 1869, Colonel EH Taylor acquired a small distillery in Frankfurt, Kentucky, near the Kentucky River. Originally named The Old Fire Copper Distillery, Taylor modernized the facility with copper fermentation tanks, advanced grain grinding equipment, and unique columnar stills. At a time when other distilleries added syrups and acids, Taylor pioneered aging whiskey in climate-controlled rickhouses. His collaboration with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle led to the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897. This act mandated that "Bonded" or "Bottled-in-Bond" spirits be produced by one distiller, at one distillery, during one season, and aged for at least four years under U.S. government supervision. Bottled directly from the barrel at over 125 proof, this bourbon embodies the pre-Prohibition craftsmanship of Taylor's era at Buffalo Trace Distillery. Drink responsibly. You must be at least 21 years old to enjoy alcoholic beverages.
