It's best known for its bushy growth, strong horizontal branching, clusters of fragrant white flowers, and rounded crown. Considered a shade tree by some, Japanese Snowbell is known to cast a light shade that's cooling but not heavy enough to prevent grass from growing underneath it. Bunches of 3/4", waxy, 5-petaled, white flowers are prominent from May through June! The hanging habit of the flower clusters opposed to the erect posture of the foliage
