From 1995 - 2020, the average hay price per ton has been around $130 to $140. Current hay prices are nearly 50% higher than they were from 1995 through 2020. We paid $285 per ton last year and are expecting to pay even more this year. FERTILIZER: We have many pastures that need to be fertilized so our animals have grass to eat in addition to the hay.
