Bees are important pollinators. They do us a great service by spreading pollen and fertilizing many types of flowers, helping to maintain healthy ecosystems.  The Paleontological Research Institution writes “Flowers and pollinators depend on each other for survival. Most flowering plants rely on insects such as bees for pollination. Insect-pollinated flowers have evolved an array of colors, patterns, fragrances, shapes, and “floral rewards”—including pollen, floral oils, and nectar—to attract their pollinators.”
