The Red Goshawk is considered to be one of Australias’s rarest birds of prey. It is primarily found in the woodlands of northern and eastern Australia. While it is sparsely distributed throughout its range, more significant declines in recent times have been attributed to degraded habitats as a result of land being cleared for agriculture. These birds are left with fewer prey and suitable nesting sites.
