Large Victorian 14K Gold Goldstone, 2.5 Carat Diamond, Enamel Butterfly Flower Pendant, Antique Brooch
A celebration of spring, this very special early Victorian pendant and brooch is bursting with diamond-set tulips, forget-me-nots, and vinery. Enameled butterflies sit atop a large glittering goldstone. Goldstone is actually a type of glass that has been admired since at least the 17th century when invented by Venetian artisans. This particular goldstone is an unusual midnight blue/violet color and measures an impressive 35 mm long by 25 mm wide. There are over 130 rose cut diamonds set within the beautiful 14K gold frame. Rose cut diamonds can be difficult to measure but we estimate over 2.5 carats in diamond weight. Pink and green cabochon gems are set on top of the tulips as well as the butterflies. This piece would make quite a splash as a pendant on a long chain, or worn as a brooch on your jacket lapel!
