Known for its density and fine, straight grain, walnut gives the Hori Hori handle a high-end feel without being too heavy. 4CR13 stainless steel exhibits good polishing and resharpening properties and excellent resistance to corrosion, both crucial qualities for a hard-worked woodsman tool. THE INSPIRATION After studying and experimenting with garden tools from countless different countries, cultures, and climates, we discovered the Hori Hori. First implemented in Japan, the Hori Hori was originally used for careful and methodical excavating of plants, such as Sansai, in high-elevation mountains.
