Compact and blooming for very long season. The Marvel series offers the largest flowers of Meadow Sage hybrids! Flowers the whole season, if deadheaded. Care Thrives in average, well-drained soils. Water deeply, regularly during first growing season to establish root system. Once established, reduce frequency; tolerates periodic drought. Fertilize before new growth begins in spring. Remove spent flowers to encourage continued bloom. Prune annually after flowering. Perennial in zones 4-9. Growth Habit At maturity, reaches 12-14" both tall and wide. Deep violet blue flowers, dark calyxes. Flowers arranged in wider and shorter spikes. Upright mounding habit. Toxicity Deer and rabbit resistant. Salvia is not poisonous to dogs, cats, or horses; however, if ingested in large quantities it can cause temporary stomach upset.
