The McIntosh apple is a popular variety of apple tree that is known for its sweet and tart flavor and juicy flesh. The tree has a spreading, upright growth habit and a medium-sized canopy of oval-shaped leaves that turn yellow in the fall. McIntosh apples are typically ready for harvest in the late summer or early fall, and they are often used for eating fresh, making applesauce, or baking into pies and other desserts. McIntosh is is best grown in zones 4-11 and is pollinated with Gold Rush, Honeycrisp & Fuji apple trees. At maturity, a McIntosh apple tree typically grows to a height of 10 to 15 feet and a width of 8 to 12 feet.  Our apple trees are 3 year trees that our sold in 5 gallon lines and are approximately 6' tall and have a trunk of approximately 1.5".  Because fruit trees often require cross pollination, we offer our five gallon size fruit trees at a "buy two trees and get an additional 15% off" for customers enrolled in our rewards program (excluding fruit bearing cherry trees).
