The Chubby Jinx comes through the development of our Jinx Headphone amp. Sharing many of the same sonic benefits but tailored strictly for 2ch stereo listening. The Chubby Jinx is our effort to answer the desires internal to ampsandosund, brining 6V6 tubes back to the forefront and allow access to nearly unlimited NOS variants. Following a long development period, we ended up with a Ultra linear 6V6 amp similar in concept to our Leeloo/Pendant. By making it UL, we increased power 2x more than we could have as a triode strapped amp while making it more neutral and resolving. UL circuits typically need small amounts of feedback. As the Jinx utilizes the famed 6SL7 front end and 6V6 power tubes, rolling rectifiers became the upmost priority. Given its modest power output, and to make a tube rollers dream; the Jinx allows for nearly any 5V tube rectifier. This includes 5V4s, 5AR4s, 5U4s and the famous 5Y3.
