Wish

Wish alludes to the ephemeral quality of desire. She revolves in a suit of whirling winds and invisible vectors. Holding a net and a whip she endeavors to entice the impossible. These mixed-media figures explore the space between the make-believe and the real. Inspired by old dolls and marionettes, they are composed of white earthenware and have been individually stamped and textured. They are assembled with metal wire to allow articulation and a sense of potential. Various found and fabricated objects further establish their narrative identities.
