TRP Spyre Flat Mount Brakes

Flat mount disc brakes are brilliant.  They’re smaller than IS mount brakes, and the brake body itself is a mounting point, making the brake stiffer and lighter.  The adapters are smaller and lighter than IS mounts too, and the hardware is as well.  We’re not weight weenies here, as evidenced by our penchant for nachos and maple creemees, but if we can save an ounce or two without trying… why the hell not?   TRP Spyre flat mount brakes work with any short pull brake lever.  Canti levers, Road levers, most BMX levers.  We like the Diacompe and Paul and Velo Orange levers for flat bars, and SRAM levers for drop bars.   You can pair these with any decent rotor, like the Rever or Rollci rotors.   If you want to read more about TRP brakes in general, read our TRP Spyke write up.
